Chef Hans Välimäki is amongst the most awarded chefs in Finland and internationally the best known Finnish chef and restaurateur.
Chez Dominique was Välimäki’s first restaurant. Since he established it in 1998, Chez Dominique has served food that is based on the flavours of Nordic and French cuisines.
Chef Välimäki studied in the Perho culinary school and later in the Perho culinary institute. He first made name for himself in the prestigious Edsbacka Krog in Stockholm.
Chef Välimäki is influenced by the French cuisine - to the classic disciplines’ of which also the Finnish restaurant schooling is based on. Chef Välimäki is especially drawn to the French cuisine’s ambition for clarity and the clear role of the main ingredient.
Chez Dominique is awarded with two Michelin stars.

The goal of the Chez Dominique working method is to bring out the best flavour, appearance and texture of each ingredient. Often it takes long nights of experimenting in the kitchen.
